As a public speaker, I sometimes feel like a musician with three instruments. First, there's the professional gigs where the focus is strictly on business - on how the client and their staff can work more efficiently and increase their profits. In recent months, this has included a session with Tesco's Innovations Conference, an "away day" with a leading UK distributor and a day teaching top Bordeaux chateaux how to use social media. Alongside these events, there are also invitations to address larger groups such as the two Wine Future events and giving the keynote at the Australian Wine Marketing Conference.
At the fine wine end of the scale, I host and co-host tastings for companies like Taste-In and the Antique Wine Company and was very much involved with the London Wine Show.
My skills at addressing casual wine drinkers were honed at events like the BBC Good Wine Shows in Birmingham and London.
A perfect example of how to conduct a Fine Wine Masterclass - with modesty, wit and humour... no matter how detailed the question, Robert was able to answer with both wit and wisdom. No wonder he’s won so many awards or that Decanter Magazine once described him as ‘one the wine world’s 50 most influential wine people.’
